GUILD SAFETY POLICY

IMPORTANT!

All demonstrators/ club members will wear a face shield when demonstrating a procedure with the lathe or other potentially dangerous machines/instruments;

A shield/barrier will be positioned between the audience and the lathe to reduce risk of injury to observers;

Demonstrators/members will tie back long hair will avoid loose clothing, jewelry or any dangling objects that may catch on rotating parts or accessory;

Members and demonstrators may use appropriate tight-fitting fingerless gloves while wood turning (no welding or gardening or other loose gloves);

Dust control will be considered a priority to protect all participants during club turning events;

Tools and machines will be well maintained;

All demonstrators/ club members will conduct themselves in a safe manner when demonstrating a procedure with the lathe or other potentially dangerous machines/instruments. For this, the safety guidelines published by the AAW are suggested as a guide.
